The 1/72nd Airfix Defiant also has a good wing fit Paul. Yours is certainly coming together nicely.

Paul, fantastic work on the turret! Plane turrets are always complicated assemblies.

So much better! In regards to the painting, I’ve pics the RAF Night black looking different depending on what it was applied over. A semigloss black over metal and flat very dark grey over fabric , I’m sure you’ll have no issues though

Thank you chaps and sorry to keep you waiting here . Steve, I think the fabric areas are the flaps and rudder? Please let me know if that is correct . I did a test fit of the canopies, they were a tad disappointing. You get two versions in the kit, the complete canopy and split down one for the open choice. The complete one has a split or nasty scratch on it, the split one doesn't fit to the rear section of the fuselage. It appears that airfix have missed the carrying rail for this, so I added some white strip so that back canopy part is supported. After that it was onto the tedious masking job. For the glazing I used tape, pushed into place tooth pick and cut with a sharp blade around the contours. For the cockpit I've used sponge and for the turret mount..... a cork from a Crabbies whisky bottle . Hopefully tomorrow will get some primer and, possibly a base coat of black
