Looking good Tommy . As for the rank insignia, I think officers started doing that in the mid 80's, I don't remember NCO's with them though.

Another problem with this figure, I do think back in the 80’s British soldiers had the rank insignia holder on the front of the smock. I think that was introduced much later…Unless you know better? Figure is looking very good, like the idea of a washed out DPM. You are correct front rank sliders where a feature of the soldier 95 uniform, up to then rank was shown of the arms for ranks below officer class.

Thanks guys. I knew I was right about the rank holder.
Just looked up about the 66. It was used in the Falklands.

I really should have checked this out before buying. I now see the webbing has an American water bottle and holder instead of the kidney pouches. I may make some kidney pouches.

I wonder if there is any proof of that. I know when we went on exercise all sorts of stuff was worn, from Great Coats, Belstaffs, Norwegian army shirts, German BW Tanksuits and basically anything with military background.

Never wore the leopard skin ones myself. Hey, ho, made some kidney pouches out of Tamiya epoxy putty. Good enough for me. British army webbing going from the right hand side - ammo pouch, water bottle holder, two kidney pouches, respirator holder and ammo pouch. I know some fighting units were allowed to improvise and maybe the Marines did.

Just been looking at Falklands war pictures on the internet for inspiration for the mini settings.
So much is the same as what is going on in the Ukraine now.
