Thanks very much chaps Yeah 6 might seem a lot but being a very light blue i needed to make sure it covered the white properly.........hence thin coats. It`s not a particularly large piece so probably about half a dozen passes on each pass, the main body is much larger but should still only require the same amount....just more of it! I went with 15 psi on the compressor thru my 0.35 brush with a 10/4/2 ratio of paint/thinner/polyurethane mix......there is probably a little bit of wiggle room on the mix but this seemed to work fine with me...........with the rubbing down `tween each coat it has left it silky smooth

Mr. Boots, awesome paint work! Yes, Mission Models paints needs very little thinning out of the jar. It does spray on very well, though, and I have been very happy with it.

Thanks very much Mence and Ian..........i certainly will be trying more of the range Ok...a bit more progress, got quite a lot done this afternoon....for me anyway!! Main body was top coated and once again the paint didnt let me down, the rear lights were done in clear red as were the front orange indicators....the inner rear hood liner has now been fitted, the fuel cap is done and fitted and some decal work. The decals are quite thick and although being relatively straight they were in fact a bit of a pain, had to pass over some edges such as rear spoiler and the front hood area and where it curves around the very front of the car one part of the white cracked.....i let it settle with some SOL and once dry i applied a tiny smear of clear over the area where the crack was and once dry acted as an adhesive.....no problems with the crack after that The rear end number 1 comes in two parts.......the first part is the main number which sits nice and flat in it`s location slots.........the second part is the feckin` stupid bit that has to bend over the air vent......feck me...i`ve been slowly manipulating that for hours to get the two ends to meet up with the flat circular number.......it`s about 90% there now, i used the same trick with the clear...........it`s impossible to put it on in one hitso ifixed a tiny part with SOL and once dry used clear to hold in place, i had to leave each manouvre about an hour before manipulating it again
The main body has also been decaled but all hidden under masking...........the large red headlight decals are really a poor fit and won`t conform to the shape of the rounded wing.........so i cut them out and made templates using masking tape, it took ages but this is about as even and accurate i can get........i figure if i pull this one off it`s gotta look better than the crap decs
My absolute nightmare having to close mask freshly applied decs .........i taped as far as i dare and then slap on the tissue.
Cheers all

Yes, I bet getting the decal on that curved fairing was tough. Great looking masking job and looking forward to more paint work.

I can see what you mean about the white circle decal and the front decals. Good luck with them. Hope the decals under the masking stay sound for you.

well, it took you some fiddling and all, but it sure was worth the effort. Nice masking as well, it's fun, isn't it? Steady as she goes ^^

Well it weren`t a bad attempt..........the shape was a pig to do but cutting around the decal and making a mask from tape helped, getting everything reasonably even was the main thing.....there are a couple of areas i nedd to tidy up but hoopefully no big deal Tape off and the earlier applied decs have stayed safe....
.......and relax!!
The bit i really was dreading has passed off not to bad...........i was a bit concerned about paint bleed from the Red but i gave the masked off area a pass with the Blue to seal the tape edge..........once dry the red couldn`t get underneath
Ta chaps
