Cheers Joe mushty . It's time to get some dirt on the vehicle . I'm getting a tad fed up with pigment fixers, doesn't matter which company they all stink . So, feeling a little experimental, I decided to try something out . I have taken Revell Contacta Clear, normally used for gluing clear parts, added water to it and then, made a paste with the required pigment mix . This was liberally smeared over the inner road wheels and brushed back with a little water to spread the stuff around. After it was nearly dry, about 2 minutes at the moment , I used a dampened q-tip to get the final look . Being happy with that, I added a good brushing of the glue/water mix to the hull, and then sprinkled the dry pigment mix onto the wet glue/water. To my eye it looks like a heavy dust/dirt build up and is well fixed when dry. Positive points: 1. no smell. 2. Dries thoroughly in 10 minutes. The paste can be removed with warm water and a stiff brush or cotton bud, up to the 10 minute drying mark. 3. Sprinkled pigment doesn't totally melt away, unless there is too much fixer mix . Negatives: 1. Hot weather, you must work fast. 2. The sprinkled on pigment is on there forever, specially when dried. 3. Drying time for sprinkled pigment is about an hour, depends on how much fixer has been added. The mix I used was roughly 30% glue to 70% water.

Cheers Boots mushty . Yes it does work well indeed. As said though, you need to work quite fast with the paste mix . The sprinkled on stuff is easier, but you need to be sure of where it goes, if you try to push it around it loses it texture, but that happens with the brand pig fixers also.

Paul, great idea with the dirt/mud mixture. I agree about the Pigment Fixers. Ammo MIG-3000 Fixer is the only one I like and that is because it does have some type of adhesive in it. The dirt application on the beast looks excellent, indeed.

Dirt and shiny wheels. When we would speak about my car I would say that combo is a no-go...like AT ALL . But in the case of your JP...that's a match made in heaven! Looking forward to see this unfold!
