Today it's a bit cooler and the paint didn't dry on the paint brush for a change. So time to continue.
This time I started to paint one of the vassals of the Count of Flanders: the Count of Artois, husband of the Count of Flanders' daughter and later duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders: Philip the Bold.
Still a work in progress: I already painted the fleurs the lis (showing that the Duke of Artois is related to the King of France). Still need to paint those on the caparison though

I'm really enjoying this, especially since I'm trying things which I never dared to do before. And somehow it turns out quite well. It's not supertidy as the great figurepainters manage to do, but still, more than good enough.
I was even bonkers enough to paint some highlights to the Fleurs de Lis

Because of the small scale I had to simplify some things but here it is: the coat of arms of Artois

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah I love the shield of the Counts of Artois, very cool colors which go together rather well. Althoug I managed to do the red horizontal line not really in line with the top of the shield, it's a bit off, but I ain't doing it again 

Boots: no worries, to be honest I haven't had a Duvel since 2021  .
To be honest, I didn't think I would be able to paint something that small either, but just biting the bullet seems the way to go ^^
