lol, thanks a lot gents. Nothing too hawkey though, just my Tamiya magnifiers...I must say, I spent pretty much half a day looking though them and I'm a tad tired now But before I go to bed I can present you the finished caparison. First I painted the fleurs de lis on the other side. Than the scary bit: covering part of the work you did using lots of blood and sweet. The red band with the tiny castle symbols. Luckily it turned out how it supposed to be. needless to say I'm well chuffed with the result. Tommorrow it's Zero time again I think

Thanks a lot fellas, good to read you're liking this The third horse of the unit has been painted. It's the steed of the Lord of Sijsele, another vassal of the Count of Flanders. Since his coat of arms carries no heraldry (beside two horizontally split colours) I tried to give the caparison some fabric texture, to compensate the lack of heraldic symbols. This was actually the first horse I started painting, and was originally intended for the Count of Flanders. However, I failed miserably at painting decent rampant lions on the caparison, so I ended up covering them and in the end paint the horse in the current colourscheme (which is a historic one). All three horses received a coat of brushed on AK interactive Ultra Matt Varnish, and I decided to testfit them on their base. I also started painting the unit banner. First I coated the two sides of regular copy paper with Gator Glue thin blend. Regular wood glue would work as well. This is to prevent the paper wrinkling when start to paint using paints thinned with fluid (in this case plain water). After that I roughly designed the lion in pencil and covered the areas in a first coat of yellow. After that the lion was painted and finetuned. I didn't black for the lion btw, because black is well...too black. The banner isn't shaded or highlighted yet. That will be done when the banner is glued in place. Not sure which knight will carry it though...mmm, difficult choices to make

The shading and highlights on the caparison is bloody awesome matey...........it might not carry the artwork like the others but it sure stands out just as much
