Ok chaps...decided to do a separate thread for the tractor unit whilst the trailer one awaits commencement when required , the 3rd part of the build will be the load itself........kinda going for the first modelling `Trilogy` , this tractor unit is a build in itself with all the feckin` parts so i thought i would give it some separate air-time . Once i get this to primer stage i can then re-work both the threads as i go along , well that's the plan anyway So far i`ve assembled a few parts but not all plain sailing............clean up and fit issues on the menu again as you`ll see in the pics, every single part so far has needed attention clean up wise.........only another 600 or so to go Here ya can see the gap/fit issues with the axle mounts (all 4 had them gaps but i`ve repaired 3 in the pics) plus even the transfer box needed filling
After......but still needs a bit `o` work...
As it sits at the mo.........plenty to go on yet
Cheers all

Cheers mate.........thought it saved having one big cluttered thread Might go for a bit of plumbing under the chass too much like the trailer..........although i think there is plenty up top as well

Yes I remember loads of filling and fettling of parts. You are right there is loads of plumbing on the rear section what with hydraulic hoses, air lines etc. Plenty to keep you busy mate!

Ok......loads done, tons to do Clean up and fit issues are whats slowing me down........every single piece has to be sanded/scraped/filed and filled here and there ......also i gotta remember when to add etch being as i`m working from 4 sets of instructions.....i`ve missed a couple of bits by not paying attention All the wheels touch ground but that was a bit of a juggling act.........i left the main shafts glue free as they are nice `n` tight so this would allow me to get all wheels flat.....which i did!!, then i added the shocks and it all went `Pete Tong` from there, had to trim the shocks in places to get the wheels down as they kept pushing the axles off true Any way.....some pics of where i am so far, i do a bit then take a sabbatical
It`s a scruffy build but once under primer it`ll look ok as did the trailer , you can see various places of filler and sanding etc
Some etch now..........main deck and spare tyre holder, rear fender X1 (havn`t attempted the other yet ) and the start of the radiator
The two etch rear steps have been added to the rear fender but i still got lots of etch to add to it yet....
And just to prove it`s gloves off......
Good `ol Tam tape to the rescue
Cheers all...
