Wishing him a full and speedy recovery Boots.
We had the same problem with my Father in law, we popped round for a cuppa and found him at the top of a 30ft ladder cleaning the gutters of his house. He was 83 with a knackered hip and knee. Nearly had to call the Fire Brigade to lift him off the ladder!

Well after some extensive repair work and cleaning of the engine chain housing and front hub we now have some primer.........this is a special heavy duty bare metal etching primer... Some pics of before, during and after on the casing.....
This had some really nasty gouges taken out of it which i have rectified using the cold weld treatment...
lots of hours of cleaning and buffing...
And after a good few coats of primer...(sorry pic a bit blurred)
And the hub...before
After...
More soon when my wallet allows me entry...

Not an issue, take your time there's no need to rush things.. it looks great so far. It's not a Miniart 1:1 kit, so you're ok !

I'll stick to my plastic for sure.. I would love to restore classics like these... but they would drain me for sure.

The Ford Capri is one of my all time fav cars...............rubbish to drive in the wet tho but a beautiful design........they certainly ain`t cheap to buy thats for sure. Some of the MK2 Escorts can reach up to 45-50,000 once restored
