I was lucky to of been given this for Father’s Day by my daughter and thought it would fit this GB nicely. I’ve not had much time to post but took snaps along the way and have to say it progressed very quickly! This is the kit…

The build took all of 30 mins….
Now I can’t take credit for the idea of using a mackerel tin as a base. I spotted it somewhere ??

Good to have you onboard ( ) gents. Hope my little floater pleases you The tin was given a ruffing up with some 3m scotch brite and primed….then it was sprayed with some AK metallics brass. Cut out a piece of high density foam board to fit in the tin and dug out a hole for boaty. This was then primed with Vallejo black primer…
I painted the base with some Vallejo French mirage blue and then slapped some MIG Ammo acrylic water….
The acrylic water will need a second pass and the boat needs a lick of paint,

Nice little boat you made yourself there Si. And great you are adding it in a Mackerel tin...I've seen it before but as they say: better a borrowed idea than a bad self invented one. Might do the same with a tiny sub build towards the future. Keep sailing skipper!

Fantastic display idea, Si! And the boat itself looks great.

Great little build Si B! It is nice to see that there are so many fields to cover with this modelling hobby of ours!

Man this is such an exciting thread. The way you reworked the tin with the metal paint coat, just sublime.
