Maybe use a thimble when you’re spraying on the primer.

All caught up with the build now Paul, it's all heading the right way from what I can see B)
I know the horse has well and truly bolted but here's my tips!
After learning the hard way I always dry fit the seat and canopy before fixing either. If the seat is too high I file the base to lower it until it has clearance. Same for the IP cover, reduce the highest points but sanding the bottom. You might need to do this to the IP too.
For the Pitot tube, I'd wrap some Tamiya tape around it an leave a tab at the end. You'd be surprised how much protection it gives.

Looks well sorted Paul.
Could you not take the pitot off and stick it on at the end?

Cheers chaps, and thanks for the tip on the pitot tube . Today was really nice weather, in fact in was perfect for going outside and priming . Tamiya Finest surface primer worked rather well I think .

Looks good,Paul. I really like Tamiya fine primer. I also spray it outside when the weather is fine with no wind because of the smell. 🤪

Thankee kindly Joe . Tamiya primer or any other rattle can primer, needs doing outside or in the cellar. The terror from Mrs.B because of the smell, just isn't worth the risk of doing it indoors

Looks very good, is still a very nice looking airplane, used to have it in 5 or 6 different versions...

Ian, Boots, Ian, cheers mushtys . Okay then, today the colours went on. And what a bloody nightmare this paint job has been . I have real problems seeing the differences in closely matched colours, I thought it was only dark colours like dark greens and blacks, but no, it's also the same with greys too . The aircraft of the Swiss Air Force are painted with FS36375 and FS36320. So out came the FS36375 (Vallejo 71.050) first. I couldn't even tell the difference between that and the Tamiya Grey Fine Surface Primer . Then came what I thought would be a heavier grey, wrong again. The FS36320 (Vallejo 71.120) Dark Ghost Grey, was hardly visible to my eye, so it was case of following the instructions and spraying as good I could. Well both colours are on, and now that they almost dry, I can see very subtle differences between the two. Unfortunately my camera seams to have the same problem as my eyes, I don't think it has picked them colours up.

She looks great, Paul! And yes, there is very little difference in these shades. These are the two shades of grey used on most low viz US Navy jets and unless the real plane just came out of the Corrosion Control shop, it's almost impossible to even see the demarcation line between the two.

......a prime example. Here's the spot on the Super Hornet where the FS36320 extends downwards and you can barely see the difference. FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY:

It’s alright Paul. Hardest thing you can see is a grey colour on a grey primer on a grey model!!!
Well it is with my eyes!!!!
