Hi peoples, I have never built an AFV Club aircraft before, so I think it's time to see how these birds of theirs go together . The choice is, as seen in the title, the F-5 E Tiger II. In the box we have a multipart fuselage and wings, some very nice stickers which I shall not using, a bit of PE, and some very nice looking clear parts. Let's see if this is going to be an almost straight fun, out of the box-ish build . Yes I have had a look at the cockpit online, and yes I had to add some bits already, but that is nothing to worry or moan about .

Looking forward to this, Paul! I don't know much about the AFV Club F-5s so this should be fun to watch.

Cheers Guy-bro, I hope I can do it justice . Okay, I said there would be colour, and colour there is . I can say that so far the fit of the parts is rather good, if not a tad too tight. They click together and have no play in them at all. So to remedy this I sanded them down, so that after paint they would go together without any problems. You don't get any decals for the instrument panel or harness, but the IP is so well molded that painting isn't too much of a problem. For the harness I used PE parts I had in spares box, they are not for this aircraft but I don't care and they look okay to me. One problem I did have with the instructions was the colour call outs, for the cockpit they say "aircraft grey" and give colours from Gunze, Humbrol, Revell and Lifecolor. Not knowing what aircraft grey is, I googled the colour codes, they come out as "darl green", that can't be right . So I guessed it must be something along the US colour range and went for Vallejo Dark Gull Grey 71.277. The rest of the colours were easy to work out, black, yellow, green, red . The office is done, I just can't join the fuselage together yet as I don't know how the Master Model 20mm gun barrels fit into the openings. Yes I had to order these AM parts as the kit is missing the two guns in the fuselage nose . Hopefully a little tomorrow when the parts arrive

Paul, that cockpit area looks fantastic. That is the correct call for the cockpit color; F-5s followed the US jet standard of Dark Gull Grey interiors.

Ian, muchly appreciated my friend . That's also good news with my guess on the colour too, it would have been a tad tricky to repaint it now .
