Great start, Bert! Love the snow. Such an amazing contrast. I found some photos the other day of Syrian T-72s in the snow.

Looks like a `Merkfest` is on the cards

Never heard of that vendor Bert. Looks like a good kit though . By the way, the Merkava 1 which Tamiya and Min Hobby Models show is the only version which you can build without the so called anti slip and ball and chain armour. These vehicles were more or less prototypes, after the first combat experiences the so called anti-slip and ball and chain were added. The anti slip isn't anti slip at all, it is in fact a very clever camo scheme. The rough texture breaks up the light hitting it, this makes the vehicle look matt all the time . This was tested in Europe also, but the fear of an NBC battle field stopped it being used. The rough texture is impossible to decontaminate, which why all NATO vehicles have a nearly smooth surface. In the Reference area you can see some pics which I took of a Hybrid Mk1. mho.freeforums.net/thread/2284/deutsches-panzermuseum-munster-2020www.flickr.com/photos/87318007@N07/albums/72157651208682612/

Boots, Paul, thanks! Must say I have no idea about this brand either, but it was dead cheap. And thanks for the extra info and link, wasn't going to bother with the anti slip anyway, these will get a layer of snow on top of them ..

I don’t like the sound of dead cheap and the box art work looks, well, simply ridiculous!
Hope it goes well for you though!

Ahhh----Mini Hobby. They used to do some rare Warsaw Pact jets in 48th scale years ago. Plastic was kind of soft but the subject matter they produced was pretty cool. I think I have their Shenyang-something or other that is like a pointy nose MIG-19.

Paul, Steve, thanks, and agreed, the weird one looks like a copy of the Tamiya kit... according to Scalemates the Tamiya is from 1983 and the Mini Hobby from 199...

First time I've seen a Tank with the side marker/cornering lamp option. Other than that, they both look good.
