Convincing rusty paintwork from you and those brushes Pete I use Deb hand cleanser for paint to condition my brushes, it’s cheap and available via my place of work

oh, I like that exhaust a lot mate. Can you elaborate a bit on that, how did you achieve the effect? Always curious how fellow modellers do things ^^

Cheers guys, Boots, I have now got some stuff called the masters brush cleaner & preserver. Tried it today and it really gets any ingrained paint out very quickly. Wouter, the exhaust is pretty easy, first off while building I use some mr surfacer to give it texture then to paint it's just vallejo panzer aces dark rust as a base then yellowish rust & light rust applied via a sponge. Later some dark washes will blend it all and give some nice shadows. More detail painting today and the bare minimum of wear around the tow cable hangers. I'm not adding anything else for a change as I want to depict a recently re fitted vehicle, perhaps as a consequence of having the peak turret fitted. It will get mud dust and grime later though obviously!

Thanks for the explanation chap. And regarding that Masters Brush cleaner and preserver. I use it for years now and it keeps your brushes in shape for ages. Well done buying it ^^

I've now got the firing line figure built up with just the slight gaps around the arms to sort. A new trouser pocket & jumper epaulettes went on using magic sculpt and a hornet head as well.

Looking mighty fine there although I’m a tad disappointed that you didn’t put one of the Union Jacks upside down just to annoy people.
