Boots, this is the actual aircraft I am building...61-0022. It normally carried the "BD" tail code but for the post 9/11 ops it apparently just carried the BuAer# and USAF motif on the tail, along with the NYPD nose art. Best wishes, Ian

Yes, the photo makes you look twice, Steve. Then I realized there is an F-16 parked to the left of the B-52.😂😂😂
Best wishes,
Ian

So I started with the seamwork on the BUFF and I did a test fit with the wings. They are not glued in yet but they fit pretty well after I trimmed the tabs down. I also built the engine nacelles and they will require some filling on the sides. So, even in 1/144th scale this thing measures out with a 15 inch wingspan. Best wishes, Ian

Yup...........it will really look really cool with the flaps down because that will increase the wing area by another 1/3. Best wishes, Ian

Holy flippin` moly those wings are sooooo ferkin` big ..........thats a great pic as well, i was wondering just how the pilot must feel in actually flying /maneuvering that flying beast, the training must be to the highest of the high in standards.

I have been watching B-52 landings on YouTube, Boots. It's interesting because they don't flare on landing; they just plant on all the main gears at once.😳

Ian

I made some progress on the B-52 and did a test fit of all the major assemblies. Everything fits really well and none of the assemblies in the photos are even glued in yet. I just have some more sanding to do and some additional seam work as well. I also got the nose sanded and installed the last avionics bump on the nose. However, this will take up some serious space on the display shelf when finished. Regards, Ian
