I started on the detail paint work on the BUFF. The H-models got new radomes for the SLEP upgrade and those appeared to be lighter in the photos so I masked off the nose and painted the radome with a lighter shade of Gunship Grey. I also lightened the rather large dielectric radio panel on the tail section. I did some slight post shading on the upper surfaces to depict some moistures spots and fading there. The drop tanks and enormous flap sections were painted as well. Next will be the large flap wells on the undersides of the wings which are Chromate Yellow. Best wishes, Ian

Thanks, Jock! Yeah, I wasn't anticipating a 15 inch wingspan even in 1/144th. Going to have to rearrange some things in the hangar to make room. Regards, Ian

I moved on to the flap wells today so it was time to break out the Saran Wrap and Washi Tape for masking. After getting the bird wrapped, I sprayed the flap wells Chromate Yellow. I didn't have any out-of-the-bottle Yellow Chromate in the paint stash so I mixed the shade using Model Master Insignia Yellow with a couple of drops of Model Master Interior Green added to it. I will add some washes and worn metal areas next, once all that dries. Regards, Ian
