That’s a couple of good updates you’ve posted there Ian. The paint really breaks up the single colour and the yellow contrasts nicely too.

I worked some more on the BUFF which continues to hang off the work bench, even in 1/144th scale. I drew the panel lines in with a .005 Micron Ink pen and then I blended them with a wet Q-Tip because I didn't want them to appear too prominent since it is a 1/144th scale kit. I am not going to shade them with Tamiya Smoke either because that will also make them appear a little overpowering for the scale. I did add a Burnt Umber Oil wash to the upper wing spoiler areas, however. I also got the landing gear mains installed and they fit fine and lined up well. I have to work on the wheels next and they are probably the most disappointing part of the model because they have horrible punch marks-----or punch craters in them. Anyway, stay tuned. Regards, Ian

You’re captured the panel lines nicely Ian, it’s easy to over do these in any scale but especially 1/144

Thanks, Steve! Yeah, I figured toned down black lines would do it for this scale, along with the very faint fading on some of the painted areas.

Ian

I got the HUGES flaps installed on the BUFF and they fit great. I guess you need monster-size flaps when you do flare-less landings in a 183,000 pound airplane. I will try to work on the wheels and gear bay doors this week and deal with the punch-craters. Best wishes, Ian
