I'm loving this so far. I have another 1/72 scale Centurion to build too; I really want to get to it now.

Cheers very much chaps . Didn't get much done today, just masked and sprayed the registration plates and added the registration numbers using Archer dry rub transfers . I am working on the tools now so that I can them on the tank, and then spray some gloss so the weathering can start

Great work Paul! I don't like to work with dry transfers. You did a really good job!

Great work with the dry transfers, Paul. Not easy getting them lined up, especially in columns.

Ian

Many thanks dear fellows . These dry transfers can be a tad trying indeed , mine are a few years old now and they're letting me know about it. The 7 on the bow broke up a bit whilst applying, but that I can fix with a tiny amount of white paint. I just wish that Archer would spread them out more on the sheet, I know that would mean less decals, but at least they would be easier to remove. You have to be really careful when cutting them out, otherwise you start the rubbing process on the neighboring decals which renders these useless. well here's todays bits . I got the tools on and the spare track links . For the spares links I used the links left over from the tracks instead of the kit supplied part. The kit parts looked too silly to me. I glued the left over links in place and added a piece of white strip and a fixing nut from Meng which IMHO looks more like the real thing . I also did some more work on the tracks, which have now decided to start to fall apart . Oh well, I'll get some TET on them when they finally go onto the tank . Hope I get this done in time for Belgium

Bummer about the tracks mucker ........i`ve not found a set that have stayed together yet ....i`ll either use Frillies or even bandies if they`re good enough.....i personally find working with bandies no problem at all

Cheers Boots . Yeah the tracks are a little annoying, but then again they are only plastic and that has boundaries . As for frillies, well anytime for me, but I thought I'd give the kit tracks a go .

Looking very smart mate, the spare links look excellent. I've had that issue with plastic tracks coming apart before, I think it's a combination of very fine location points and handling. However tamiya click together tracks have always stood up to plenty of abuse. As you say a spo of glue will sort em out.

All caught up here now, the transfers look good, they have that prototype feel to them. Shame about the tracks but as you say they are only plastic. This’ll look good on the competition table

Cheers chaps . How do they say? Slowly, slowly catch a monkey? Well I have added a gloss coat and the last stickers, there should be something on the left hand wing but I just can't make out what it is, so I shall leave that side free. Next up will be getting dirty, but only the lower hull and just a tad on the upper areas . More tomorrow chaps

Cheers for the encouraging words chaps . Today I started a mega marathon on the Caernarvon, I got a decent dust dirt build up on the lower on. I used a mix of Mig and VMS for this , Mig pigment fixer then VMS pigment mix a good blast from the hair dryer and finally VMS matt coat. I then added the tracks, which was very trying because of the pigs on the underside of the sponsons. Without the dirt the tracks would slip through perfectly, but with dirt in there it is just tad too tight, which ended up in multiple track breakages . Anyway the tracks are on, next I'll dirty up the wheels and another coat of matt in place. Oh yes, I have another day less to complete this, Mrs B has decided that we will leave Sunday for Venice . We'll be spending Sunday in Düsseldorf because Mrs. B feels like it . More later chaps
