Ok chaps
I`m waiting on somat for the Sherman which will take a good few days to arrive so in the meantime i`m going off on a complete tangent and have decided to have a bash at `Stubby` here ...........i will still be doing the Sherman but for the mo i wanna have a complete change of direction to clear me head ..........i`ve resigned myself to the fact the Shermie is gonna be a slow build so i`m gonna crack back on it a bit later...........she is sitting all sealed in a large sandwhich bag to keep the dust of till i get back to it shortly
OK.......... here it is the Grumman F3F-1.....or....the last American Bi-plane!!

I`ve seen a guy build one of these and he had some issues with the fit...........`specially the two fuse halves. I checked mine out and i`ve never seen such a smooth seamless perfick fit as my two
Who`d have thought it HUH!!.....my own category...........with a wingie

Nice one! The F3F!! Definitely looking forward to this one. They do look really good built up. Just test fit around the cockpit/fuselage area as there are a lot of parts in a small area.
Regards,
Ian

Made a start assembling the very basic office....however i do still need to add the dash and belts, plus decals/paint/light weathering etc to do so it should scrub up ok , a test fit of the two halves and all is silky smooth.....but....as Ian mentioned it does get a bit more snug when dry fitted with the office inserted, nothing major.....just fettling needed

The barrel is on a roll

Most Accurate Miniatures kits were of the same breed. Beautiful cockpits but with a large amount of parts for the interiors. You just have to get everything in the right place and test fit. That is great work, Boots!

Ian

Ok chaps...........spilt some paint in the `office` I think it will do as most of it is hidden , just gotta add the lap belt. I did take the liberty of adding an old canvas seat pad to the pilots seat.....don`t know if common practice or not but it works for me ..............just gotta button it up today and crack on wiv a bit more, hopefully have somat more to show later
Basic block painting and then a brown wash just to take the brightness out of the alu colour
More later .............cheers chaps.
