Tim,don't you listen to that ole 'Bonehead' Paul. The 432 was a fun vehicle to drive. I had many happy hours pulling the sticks in them! Never had to ride in the back of one,so I can't confirm or deny Jase's comments.

In the back it's like being in a rubber dingy u-boat, I haven't known any one not turn sea sick when it's closed down .

I took it as a positive on the basis that it must be a reasonable interpretation of the real deal in order to give you the feelings
Chris,
Would love to say that I know what you mean but I have only had the pleasure of driving a Leopard at the W&P show. It was fun though.

Chris, I know the story and sorry to say........... it was a Leo1. But don't hold that against it, it might not have been the one that crushed your dream Lazy update. Got the colour on the last of the the wheels and drive sprocket. Now in a bit of a quandry. All the colours used to date are per the destructions and, as instructed, Mig Ammo. Question is, does the yellow look "yellow" enough, or is it a bit pasty? Maybe I should wait and get the camo done on the main body to see what that looks like, but if its wrong that will be harder to correct. I was expecting a more golden hue to the yellow and not quite so pale. What do you think? Tim

Tim, from here, it looks a bit lighter than I saw at pics of BATUS vehicles.

Tim that yellow does look too pale, perhaps a better start would be something like tamiya XF60 dark yellow or similar with some white added. As you say a more golden tone would work better. I'd test on some paper or something but if you want to spray the model it's much easier correcting the yellow afterwards if you are happy with the green tone.

Although a wash would tone it down to a more relevant colour, I'd still respray with something darker. Pete's idea with Tammy XF 60 sounds good

Marco,
Thanks for the picture, just confirms what I was thinking. However, it does raise another issue. I am not happy about the green
Pete & Paul,
Thanks for the input but as you can see above, I am not happy with the green now. Would I be better off ditching the green & yellow and going with some NATO black on the green? Suppose these things are sent to try us, a right PITA though.
Will get out and cut the grass and give it some thought. Might carry on and try a bit of yellow oil dot to darken it.

If you want a great green colour for modern brit armour then tamiya XF65 filed grey is the one to get. It's perfect for the shade used by the army. You can also lighten it with a drop or two of tamiya flat flesh.

Agree with others about not being yellow enough. For the overall scheme, personally I prefer the green + yellow as there's more contrast between the colours.

Jabb's
I also prefer the green \ yellow option and to that end I have been mixing away with my limited selection of Tammy paints.
Have 2 on the go, one is desert sand with yellow added and the other is yellow with desert sand. Not the same proportions I hasten to add. Current favorite is no 2 but still not quite right, so will try adding some flat flesh to it.
Whilst this goes on, I have boxed her up as I have no desire to ruin her after all the work that has gone into the interior. Hopefully back on it soon, but, as a gap filler, I will dig out the Hobby Boss 1\48 Corsair F4U-4 early version which has been languishing for rather a long time in its box, partly built and waiting patiently.

Tim, I’m sure you’ll get a paint mix you like and it sounds as though you’re on the right track.

Finally bit the bullet and started on the camo. Looking through the paints I came across Mig light sand grey and decided to go with that. Was going to spray but in the end decided to use the "hairy stick". This is what I have so far. More soon. Tim

Bit more done today. Judging by the photos a lot of tightening\tidying up to be done but otherwise headed in the right direction. Some dirtying and washes hopefully will pull it all together. Will let this cure for a day or so and get on with other things (the type that create modelling tokens) as a change. Tim
