Thank you for jumping by fellas. OK I think we've reached the finish line with these two GI's. To be honest they gave me a pretty hard time with the soft folds of their coats. I was painting too much contrast and I totally missed the feel of the fabric. I had to push back the contrast and now I can live with the outcome. Today all the small details were done. I applied dust and dirt to the boots, and clothing. The weapons were completed with slings, you should see me gluing these feckers on, I'm the clumsiest of all modellers!!! I hope you like them as I bombed you with too many in progress picks. Here and there the fresh oil paint touches are still shiny but this will go mat once dry. This figure is without a single doubt the best sculpt I've ever painted. It was big fun to do. When the detail is sharp, the paintwork is a lot easier. Tomorrow the third figure...

Thank you Steve fella! Today I slapped some serious slaps of oils around this third figure which looks a lot like Elvis with that mouth! I'll put a cigaret in it later on. It looks like one greasy mess now but tomorrow the figure will be dry enough to move on with it. The head is practically done I think. I won't put a sling on the rifle as there are lots of wartime photos showing BAR weapons without one.
The figure is nearly 3mm smaller than the other Alpines. I think it's the size of Dragon figgies. It looks lovely on the diorama, as the smallest one carries the coolest gun.
