The turret is nearly built. I removed the soft detailed molded on holders for the gun mantlet cover and scratched them in order to add a bit more crispiness to this golden oldie. The grab handles of the hatches will be replaced by metal wire.

Thank you fellas. Today the turret was airbrushed with two shades of rust brown. I added a few drops of Tamiya clear to the dark and light browns.

Marco! Thanks, how are you brotha? Tommygunn, thank you. Paul, thanks, it's a start and I'm happy with 'grand'. Ian, thank you. Steve, thank you my friend. You're most welcome. Boots, thanks ! It's the start of a battery of rustification. Today I battled on and after another coat of Tamiya Gloss Clear. I mixed three shades of green diluted with water and made enough for the whole tank. The turret was sprayed with hairspray applied by the airbrush pistol to avoid uncontrolled...sprayerizings. I then dropped salt in the fresh hairspray. The darkest green was applied, then de mid shade and the lightest. I want worn paint with sun bleached effects. Once the paint was dry I removed the salt with a toothpick and a rough brush. The result was then sealed with Tamiya Gloss Clear. Now the turret is ready for stage 3. The three greens I prepared for this step. Picking away the salt...no rushing, it's reeeeeeeeelaxiiiiiiing. Tomorrow the next step. This is where I'm at.
