Paul, Pete, Ian & Marco, Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Time has come to close up the fuselage, which required the visible part of the engine fitting along with the props. As I have gone for the working mechanisam for the contra rotating props, they are removable. This will leave part of the engine sticking out of the front, so will require masking when prime time comes, as this has been sprayed aluminium. The spinner has been painted with Vallejo Dark Red, 70946. The central wing section is dry fitted at the moment and I am very pleased with the fit. Little or no gap at the wing root and, as there is a little flexibility in the assembly it should be possible to get away without using any filler. Tax season ends tomorrow so hopefully a return to the workbench full time next week. In the meantime this is how things stand. More soon I hope. Tim

A little more done today. Wings completed. Did not fancy the folded option and very pleased with the fit at the fold points. Will be leaving the wing section off and painting seperately from the fuselage. Hopefully it will make life easier.
Rather like the look of this and with the "Musketeer" yellow and black ID stripes should be a colourfull addition to the collection. Tim

Tim, the Wyvern looks excellent. The size of those planes is just epic. Looks like it ate a Skyraider.

Halfords Best applied and ready for the colour application. Everything is dry fit at present so I can break it all down for spraying. More tomorrow I hope, provided the Rugby don't get in the way. Tim

Paul, Marco, Pete and Ian, Thanks for dropping in and the comments, glad you like. Well today I started to apply the colour. First up the RAF Sky which laid down a real treat and pleased me no end. A coupel of bits were a bit grainy at first but nothing a little 12000 grit couldn't deal with. Then out with the Tammy yellow to start the ID marks.
So next up will be the Dark Gull Grey, which can wait till tomorrow as rugy will rule the roost for the rest of the day. Besides, gives it time to cure a little before I chuck more paint at it.
More tomorrow.
Tim

Rugby? Who’s playing? By the way, the bird is looking good. Very interesting propellers. Can’t be that many planes with 8 blades?

Rugby? Who’s playing? By the way, the bird is looking good. Very interesting propellers. Can’t be that many planes with 8 blades? Not England that's for sure!!!!!!!!!!! Got most of the Dark Gull Grey on today but ran into a small problem. Discovered I was out of curvable masking tape which, given the way the area around the cockpit and upper portion of the fuselage has a distinctive curve, I decided to wait for new supplies. Should be here tomorrow weather permiting. Finished the yellow bands for the ID markings and made a start on the black stripes. Cock up with the first first stripe, the black bled through. Really must remember to seal the masking strips before applying the next colour. All was well with the second stripe and managed to tidy up the first one.
Quick look at how things stand, tried the drop tanks out for size.
   First black stripes,
Not to bad, now to get the sripes on the air brake.
Onwards and sideways, more soon. Tim

Certainly looks good from here Tim . I can't say that with the sealing often enuff, it has to be done to save the nerves
