Cheers chaps, made a start this afternoon with the lower hull. this is made up of four parts and goes together reasonably well. I found the rear plate a tight fit until I trimmed the four locating tabs slightly. The central spar you see below is a locator for the swinging arms and offers a good positive fit. Talking of the arms they each have a small location tap which mates up with slots on each unit on the hull. Here I chose to remove the tabs which will allow the suspension to move. I'm hoping that this will allow me to adjust the ride height later on. Wheels look excellent having the torque indicators and the correct amount of holes. I'll beat these up later with some nicks and dents in the rubber running faces. A quick test fit of the upper hull shows that the hull sides at the front spay out slightly and the join between the front plate is slightly off. Both can be fixed later with some plastic shims and a bit of clamping. One thing I need to work out early on is anti slip. On chally 2 it is there but it's quite fine and not as pronounced as say on a merkava etc. IF I go for the Berlin scheme this could make masking a bit of a pain if I use say VMS anti slip or something else. Not sure this will detract from the model if I don't' add it. Perhaps a light stippling of mr surfacer will suffice?

Looks great so far! I'd vote for Berlin as well.
Must say though, re-igniting the age old argument about it, I've never put any anti slip on any of the seven Challengers I've built over the years and no one has ever said anything about its absence. Looking forward to seeing this gotogether and whichever way you decide to go, I'm sure it will be a cracker.

Grand start there Pete . As for the Anti slip, difficult question to answer that one. Mr Surfacer sounds like the safer route as it certainly won't be as rough as VMS.

Forging ahead nicely with the build! Those tracks looks nice and having that assembly jig included will help keep everything where it’s meant to be good when they are easier than you think
