The pinwash sure did it's work, that looks good! And what a bummer on the canopy. I feel your pain but nothing you won't be able to set straight I reckon. But it's not fun when things don't go as planned. ^^

Sorry, Paul. I’ve just seen your canopy on a bigger screen without half a bottle of wine down my neck.
After I’ve masked a canopy, I lightly key the frame to be painted with some 3600 micro-mesh. I find the paint sticks better to the clear plastic.

Okay chaps, I have stopped sulking about the canopy . I shall continue work on that maybe tomorrow . So today I started a base coat for the weathering, this isn't going to be a heavily weathered aircraft. After all, it only had 45 minutes flying time. I slapped some some Tammy smoke over the panel lines and some streaks in flight direction over the whole aircraft. Now being as this bird had a monster 18 cylinder, Mitsubishi double radial engine as a power plant, I thought I would add some chipping around the air-intakes . I am sure that these areas would show some sort of wear and tear . I also started work on the prop. Not much, just the base colour, yellow tips and light chipping to the leading edges .

That looks just the job, Paul. The weathering looks spot on.

Joe, Boots, Tommy, Steve, thank you kindly my dear muckers . It's now in the drying box, as I glossed the bird this morning. Tomorrow will get some staining around the exhaust outlets and naturally the undersides too. There may even be a little colour added

The weathering accents around the intakes and the cockpit look awesome! Yes, double radial and 18 cylinders is a massive engine. Was the 45 minute flying time a result of Meteors, P-59s and F-82 Twin Mustangs?

Joe, that is what we do here . Wouts, cheers ole chap ,but I am still learning . Ian, appreciated muchly mucker . Started on the fuselage today . Now this is a different story compared to the simple winged bits . Part of the front, starboard and port sides, are done. The nose I screwed up and has been covered with Mr.Surfacer 500, I'll get back to that tomorrow. The rear has been mapped out with pencil markings, this is necessary otherwise you would go totally mad adding the tape freehand . And I thought that small PE stuff was a nightmare... I wonder what have we done in order t be punished like this !

Cheers muchly chaps . karih , We do this, because we can . Today had some more wear and stains added , also the darned landing was added . Ian H once said the landing gear on the Corsair A7 is tricky to mount, well I can say that was simple compared to this . The front piece is okay ish.... but the main wing parts are really a PITA. There are only two parts on each side, the leg and the retraction/extension cylinder. But getting them lined up and square to the aircraft is a nightmare. The main problem is getting them slightly leaning forward, the buggers kept slipping off to the sides or rear. But I think I now have them set right, if not I'll have to force them into the right place and add a drop of cyano

The undercarriage sounds tricky, Paul. I'm sure it will look absolutely fine after being left to set over night.

Mark, your praise is much appreciated my friend . I can say this much though, I am still watching it and tweaking the darned bits while they set

That is fully understandable. I have a couple models like that happening as well.

You tackled it Paul, the landing gear looks symmetric, not the easiest of jobs.
