Good choice with the Geopard . That Meng kit is nice . They show the inside of the electronics cabinet .

Super work matey the idea of a Gepard on the trailer is ace, I’d recommend the menu kit as well but perhaps another option is the old tamiya one tarted up or covered with tarps?

Thanks very much for the support on the idea Nuncie Carl and Pete , like the idea of that panel open but i think that would require a maintenance type scene......that means figures!!!! ......that just sends shivers down my spine , i think i`ll just go with loaded...job done

First stage..... , NATO Green ......next colours are gonna be feckin` fun!!!
Also exhaust WIP..
I`ll move the trailer to here now that i`m at paint...i`ll just add a link to the start of this one for those that might wanna have a gander
Dunno how i`m gonna tackle the Black and Brown just yet......thinking of hand painting this if i`m honest!!, i can`t possibly mask the tractor unit coz there are far to many delicate bits, plus i don`t have a small enough needle in my AB suitable in keeping over spray to a minimum....even at low pressure, i dare say any small over spray can be lost in weathering i suppose.....the other point with hand brushing is Vallejo model colour don`t do a NATO range of specific colours like Tam do.
Cheers chaps.......more soon when i figure it out

Green looks good , but thats the easy part isnt it . I suppose you could mix Vallejo to get close and weathering would take care of the rest .

The delicate parts are always an issue when it comes to masking but I'm sure you are the right man to get this job done mate. The green looks good and like Carl said, during washing and filter procedures the Val colours can be finetuned.

What about using a piece of shaped plastic card to form the edges? Hold it to the model and spray? Wet tissue is good for sealing up delicate detail too, I used to use it in aircraft cockpits. Goes in without any pressure and comes out the same, just wet it again

Thanks guys for the input it`s mucho appreciated I`ve decided to take the gamble and spray it with my AB and Tams NATO colours......the wet tissue/newspaper and the shaped card were some of my options i`d thought of as well Steve and are still a good ones if the need arises, i`m gonna go the Blu-Tac route with thin strips and just dodge the `ickle bits .....i`ll do the trailer first as a guinea pig. The tractor deck is not so much of an issue.....the fenders and cab are flat surfaces which i can deal with but the winch and centre deck are a bit more tricky.....this is not a prob coz any small over spray will be lost in the crevices and heavily weathered.....the area by the 5th wheel/trailer coupling is just dirty green anyway so i don`t need to be too finicky ..........Tamiyas XF-57 Buff is ya best friend for dealing with any minor mishaps

Green, my favorite color! You're right about VA paints, they are the best to hand paint. But I know you'll do an amazing job with the AB.

Nice and green fella . Good choices of weapons there, Vallejo / BT / wet paper towel or newspaper . Waiting patiently for the next move

The green looks great, like the subtle tones you've achieved. Looking forward to seeing how the black and brown go on

Marco, Paul and Pete..........thanks guys Ok first attempt at 3 tone camo........Blu-Tac was no good so i resorted to cutting out my own stencils from masking tape (Lo-tac), i was gonna start on the trailer for ease but i thought what the heck......cab done but i gotta just finish off some internal painting and then i can add the front bumper and button that part up All Tam paints thru the AB...
The colours will be faded a tad.....i`ll use a bit of Pz Grey over the NATO Black and then add some Buff to the NATO Green and Brown........i`ll just do the very centres of each colour
Cheers chapsies

Absolutely nothing wrong with that camo my friend. I like it already with the camo'd cabin.
