Ok...........you asked for it.. I`m sorta flitting between various jobs of clean up and ones that i don`t need to spend on for the moment, there`s no point in ordering parts i don`t need for ages so i`ve carried on with the remaining strip down and thankfully only encountered 2 difficult jobs (even those succumbed to my persuasion ........even if one of them was partly my fault ) So basically we are now engine out and forks removed and just a frame with a stand (this is a future prob i will need to address repair wise).......
.........and now forks
I also mentioned some clean up.........the tool box
Before....
And after 3hrs, paint stripper, wire wool and sore elbows..........i had this, gotta admit for 60yrs old thats in bloody good nick under the paint
This is just like re-cycling a giant model kit where-by i can jump to whatever takes my fancy...
I`m not gonna post all the detail pics that i`ve taken only those which might be relevant to any interested party...........there will also probably be a few delays in posting now that the strip down is done.......that was the quick part!, i need to get a couple of big hurdles outta the way before i can start to stick things back together but in the meantime i`ll post dribs and drabs comparison shots

Will you need to cover that bare metal straight away?

Post by Boots on Mar 16, 2024 21:51:02 GMT

Great prep work,Buddy. Yes get some etch primer on it as soon as you can.Even if it is wrapped.Otherwise you'll end up re-sanding. Aerosol is fine.
