Just a slight update on the Viggen. I painted the AIM-9 Sidewinder rails flat white, as indicated in actual photos. I also finished the launch rails for the AIM-120 AMRAAM's, which came from a Kinetic F-16 kit as did the missiles themselves. Photos showed those rails to be painted in a shade close to Light Ghost Grey so I sprayed them with the Model Master enamel variant of that shade and them hit them with a wash of mineral spirits and Burnt Umber Oil Paint. Almost ready to put it all together and flat coat. Best wishes, Ian

Got some bench time in on the Viggen this weekend. I installed all the gear bay doors and got the centerline drop tank mounted. As with most jet kits, the burner-can interior is a disaster so I made an exhaust plug out of sheet stock and glued it into place. I decided to forego the AMRAAM missiles because what I thought were LAU-127 rails from the spares box were in fact not, as they were too long. I did find another set of -127's but I only had four and I will need those for a future F-15E Mudhen build. Therefore, I went with just the two AIM-9's on the outboard pylons. I will get the ejection seat in place next and it will be time to flat coat. Best wishes, Ian
