Thanks a lot my good ol' buddies, lovely comments Well, I can officially announce that my first build since my U-boot from last year (July 2020! ) has been finished. And one shelf queen less whehey . I added the two wires on top of the fuselage and added a tad of weathering around the antennas. The wires took me almost one bloody hour to attach the buggers. But finally I'll start a 2021 finished builds thread and add more photos there ^^

Stunning work! Man, I cannot get over the incredible realism you guys apply to your models. I look at these and sometimes wonder how I could do something similar to me smaller scale stuff but it usually comes out looking overbearing and overdone.
I guess that's the difference between a novice like me and a Master like you.

Stunning work! Man, I cannot get over the incredible realism you guys apply to your models. I look at these and sometimes wonder how I could do something similar to me smaller scale stuff but it usually comes out looking overbearing and overdone. I guess that's the difference between a novice like me and a Master like you. Thanks guys And thanks for calling me a Master, though I hardly consider myself one . Those ranks are for Migs, Uncle Nightshift, Roger Hurkmans, Marijn Van Gils (especially Marijn, the things he does...that's just alien. Search for his current Napoleontic ship diorama he's working on!) and so many more to name. The work they output and show isn't from this world. However I must say I'm at a stage now where I'm really happy with my results, even though there are plenty of errors and flaws. Still room for improvement (luckily!) but I don't look at my work anymore while being disgusted . No worries though, the paint and weathering stages I'm applying aren't rocket science. The wonderful world of the internet is full with great tutorials (Youtube!), same as modelling mags and books. I just try out techniques and keep what works for me (hint: I mainly use oil paints, which are very forgiving. If you don't like how it looks you can remove it again). Took me some odd 10 years though ^^ Again, many thanks
