Evening all, another quick update on the base progress. I created a base/sealer coat for the dio using a mix of Mod Podge and Ivory Black acrylic paint. I decided to keep the tone more mid-dark grey rather than black. It's the first time I've used Mod Podge and I have to say it works really well in creating a solid barrier on the foam without masking the texture that I made. Yep, now bring on the grime!!!!!! You know I was going to write and tell you to check your spelling of defense, but just looked it up Defense is American and Australian, whereas defence is UK.  |

Yes, you're right it should be Defence, but down this neck of the woods they spell it with an S and all google searches show it as an S. Being a Brit I know it's C but it had me doubting it!!!! |

Had a relaxing afternoon painting the first step of the cobblestones and part of the pavement section. I had reruns of an old 90's UK drama on the laptop to accompany me and copious amounts of coffee. Not really much else to say other than showing a couple of progress pics. What paints are you using? Oils? They're all acrylics. A mix of Vallejo and AK. I'm using 4 key colours per block (road, pavement, flagstones) and then creating tonal variations by mixing them. |
