Beautiful!
When you've finished, there is some cobbling left to do in our street..

Well it's done, the correct spelling of Defence is now in it's rightful place in the title. How could I have ever doubted the Queens English??? Why? Defence with an "S" is just plain wrong..... Thanks Tommygunn for bringing me back and not forgetting my roots.

Evening All, hope this post finds you all well? I've been able to sneak a bit of time on the base over the last couple of nights, First up I mixed up a 50/50 blend of fine sand and casting plaster to make the mortar to place inbetween the various cobbles and flagstones. It was scooped on and then rubbed into the crevices with my finger. Using the finger is better than a brush as it pushes the mix in and compacts it. Here's a WIP pic: Then I practiced some drybrushing on the flagstones. It will all get washed away when I put the washes on, so it was used a a dry run, so to speak. First pic is the first colour, a mid gery tone: Next was with a slightly darker tone of the first colour Then I did a lighter tone of the first grey. Last up was a dry brush of titanium white I'm pleased with the way it's come out and creates quite a lot of depth and tonal difference. Washes are next. Until next time. Cheers Mark

Morning All, time for a quick update on progress. First bit of work was laying down a wash on the 3 areas. The flagstones were given a flat black wash. The pavement was given a burnt umber one and the road cobblestones dark grey. Next up I laid down a base coat of Strong Ocher on the bricks in the wall section. The bricks will be built up with a mix of colours and washed to unify it, just like the ground sections. The wall will also have a damaged plaster / stucco coating painted up. To finish up for the day I wanted to quickly try a mock up of how I envisage the final build. The idea is that the gun has been positioned on a pile of debris in the area outside a damaged church and is using the partly destroyed wall to fire though. The base pile will be made out of sculptomould and ganrnished with debris like material. I also have a set of resin figures posed to operate the gun to set it all off. That's all for now. Cheers Mark
