Thanks, guys! Well, the fuselage is done and all the control surfaces are on. I had to do some soul searching about how I wanted to display it. I had initially planned to do some engine panels open. However, the Sturmbock I am depicting is one of the rare all-black cowling -190s from JG.3. I decided that having the panels open was going to take away from the ominous look of the overall black nose and would kind of break up the nose profile. As a result, I decided to close everything up. Revell also provides the updated cowling piece to depict where the nose gun troughs have been faired off since those MGs were removed. The fit was great and I just have to fill a few seams and gaps and we will be ready for some primer. 

Very nice, just a pitty of that great looking engine..

Small update here; the model has been sprayed with Tamiya Primer and I am just touching up a few seams and we will be ready for some RLM 74/75/76, shortly.

I made some progress on the FW-190. Per the reference material from EagleCals this particular JG.3 bird carried the drop tank with the blunt back end, instead of the pointy version. I sawed the back of the tank off and then added a sheet stock plug. I then started the paint work on the aircraft. The reference material advised that the nose, fuselage eagle emblem (or what is left of it) and inboard wings are actually a semi-gloss blue black. I mixed some Acryl Black with about 20% Vallejo Sea Blue. and sprayed the nose, wings and fuselage sides. Once this cures up, I will mask that off and start the RLM 75/75/76. EagleCals only provides the white border decal for the fuselage motif so I am making templates from tracing paper which I will transfer to low-tack masking tape and apply over the blue black. Hopefully my measurements are on point and the white border will lay down over the blue-black area I masked off. I knew this black nose paint scheme was going to look intimidating.
