Ian, as I said, not much difference to the 48th scale kit John, thankee kindly for that. Makes a change to moving forward with a bit of speed Here's today's update. Wings, engine/landing gear bays, tail planes, gun nose are in place. The landing gear and canopy are dry fit. I have a little filler to sand down and the sprue tabs on the tail planes to remove, plus the wing tips need adding and after that, prime time

Looking good and ready for paint. Paul, how do you glue on the canopy, with Microscale transparent glue or cyano?

Joe, Guy, Jeff, muchly appreciated chaps . Jeff, don't forget your umbrella and hat . Guy, I have two glues for transparencies in my armoury. Revell Contacta Clear and VMS Transpa Fix 6K. Holding strength is about the same for both, the Revell stuff is nicely workable straight from the bottle, but the VMS glue is extremely thick and needs thinning. Also the Revell stuff is excellent for mixing pigments, sand and small stones together, for that hard encrusted dirt on the bottom of vehicles .

Ian ole chap, cheers muchly . Okay I had a slight setback this afternoon . After polishing the canopy and adding the one part to it, can't understand why Tamiya don't give you two canopies (PR and Fighter versions), I went to add the Eduard masking. The mask set is called out for the Tamiya kit, maybe in another universe it is, but not in this one . I spent 2 hours adding the masking, plus some self made parts. Only about 40% of the masking set fits, so be warned if you go for this set. This is now the second masking set that doesn't fit correctly, the first one I encountered on the Tamiya 109 I made. Anyway, the mossie is now ready for priming, which happen tomorrow morning .

Making great progress Paul, the mozzy is one of my favourites too.
The PR version had a different canopy and crew access hatch and a glass nose as well as slight different control column. Eduard has two mask sets, one fighter and one for the B and PR versions, which did you have?

Ian, get it on the bench fella . Steve, cheers muchly ole chap . The masking set I have is CX 121, which is as you say, the wrong one. The mask for the glass nose is in there also, looks like I'll have to be more careful in the future . Still that doesn't explain why the Bf109E-3 mask didn't fit the E-3 I built . This mornings update. Primer in form of Tamiya's finest rattle can primer . Might even get the black undersides done later .

Looking great but judging by the masking story the 'simple easy build' turned out a little bit more tricky then expected 😁
