That looks terrific matey........cheers for the heads up on the tape as well Definitely check out the Washi Tape. A forty roll pack runs about 10.00 on Amazon so you can get a huge supply and split it up with your model buddies. There is a good video on YouTube about it and how it is comparable to Tamiya but about 80% cheaper. Best wishes, Ian

I have a minor update for the FB. VI Mosquito part of the project. I applied the invasion stripes and then painted the plane with Model Master Extra Dark Sea Grey and Tamiya Sky Type S. Everything went smoothly regarding the paint job and I just have a few touch-ups to make. Stay tuned..... Regards, Ian

Thanks everybody! I did get some work in on the Mosquitos this weekend. I got the prop spinners painted for the Coastal Command FB. VI version so the next step will be the installation of the wide-paddle blades. The Tamiya kit supplies both the narrow and wide blades so that is pretty helpful. I also got a coat of primer on the Airfix Mk. IV Series II (long nacelle version). The fit on this was not quite as good as the Tamiya version so I am still sanding out a few rough spots. A nice addition in the Airfix kit is the 4000 lb. Cookie bomb so I am going to place that on a bomb cart next to the completed aircraft once it is done. That thing almost looks like a hot water heater. . Anyway, it will be camo time soon for this one so stay tuned. Regards, Ian

I have been busy lately so I haven't posted much. I did work on the Mosquitos and made some good progress on the Tamiya FB. VI. It appeared the undersides of these Coastal Command raiders were very grimy so I added some fluid leaks, streaks and gun residue with oils and pigments. I also added the heavy exhaust stains using Vallejo Chocolate Brown. Photos showed the exhaust stains even dirtied up the horizontal stabilizers so I added some streaks there to line up with the exhaust stacks. I pulled one out of the armor playbook and used the sponge method to chip up the invasion stripes, especially on the leading edges. Also, the kit canopy had an internal defect which could not be buffed out from either inside or outside but I was able to get my hands on a Squadron FB. VI vacuform canopy via Amazon. (Amazon has saved me several times with Squadron canopies.) I will start work on the rocket ordnance and should be ready to decal soon. The Mosquito Mk. IV Series II co-build is about ready to paint so I will get some photos of that one up as well. Best wishes, Ian
