I made some progress on the FB. VI Mossie this week, having gotten the decals on. Kits At War decals were used to depict a Mossie from 235 Squadron, Banff Strike Wing. However, since the Kits At War sheet has so many birds on it they only provide squadron markings so the roundels came from an old Aeromaster Mossie sheet. This is a Mossie from later in the war so it has the Type C1 roundels on the upper wings. Next stop will be getting the canopy done and mounted. The Mk. IV glass nose Mossie part of this project is on hold for now since I am waiting for Ocean Grey paint to arrive in the mail since I have no local hobby shop in the area anymore.

Thanks for the encouragement, gentlemen! I am calling 1/2 of this project done. I have wrapped up the Tamiya FB. VI Mossie from 235 Squadron of the Banff Strike Wing. I used a Squadron vacuum-form canopy which fit perfectly on the model. Using the sponge method, I added some bare metal areas to the metal parts of the Mossie like the intake boxes and prop spinners as well. I drilled out the MG barrels for some added realism and applied some MIG pigments to the wheels to depict dirt. The plane was then flat coated with Dull-Cote.

I will get back on the other half of the Mossie project, the glass nose Mk. IV Series II, once my Ocean Grey paint gets here.
