Hi All Well it's been a busy couple of weeks which has meant no modelling unfortunately. But I did manage to get a bit done over the last couple of evenings snatching 5 minutes here and there. So, first up i sanded down the corner joins and added some putty. Once that was dry i sanded them down and finsihed the whole basswood surround ready for painting later. Then it was on to the first step of putting down an acrylic wash of burnt umber and burnt sienna. Next step is to mix up some pva with water and some sand to create an earth base. But that will be for another day. Cheers Mark

Hi All I managed to duck in and out of the model room yesterday and make some progress on the base First I mixed up a concoction of interior pva glue, water, fine sand and some n scale railway ballast. This was liberally applied across the base but not in the track depression. I also added in some small stones and tiny bits of twig. Of course I had to place the Kitty on just to see how it was coming together. Prior to getting back into modelling I dabbled in building a model railway. After dismantling it and selling it all on, the biggest regret I have is not keeping my WWS top of the range static grass applicator. Well, you live and learn as they say. So I acquired one of the middle of the road versions of Aliexpress and yesterday was it's first test run. In all fairness it's not too bad and does the job. Although I still pine for my old one Anyway enough of the reminiscing, here's some pics of the outcome. And of course with Kitty Pretty picture heavy today, hope it's not too much visual overload? Till next time Cheers Mark

Mark, there's no such thing as visual overload. Especially when looking at this magnificent eye candy!

Visual overload of great modeling! That base and groundwork is superb and the Tiger really looks at home there.

Is it just me, or does the green on the Kitty stand out more because of the grass?
Great work by the way.

Hi All
Thanks for all of the great comments so far and that the visual overload is welcomed. Up until now i would have called the basework approach almost done. However this time I'm going to try the Nightshift approach maaaa friends. That's right I'm going dark!! I have to say I'm a little apprehensive to cover everything in black primer and then building up the colours, but "I'll risk it for a Swisskit" (Reference for all the older UK residents!!).
Watch this space!!!
Cheers
Mark
