I have seen a couple of sites where they use clingfilm between the tracks and surface, somehow that does feel 'safer' though I am not sure it will work with resin.. but your way does look good!

It does look fantastic... but may I suggest something? If you make the lowest parst of their trousers a bit darker, they look wet from walking through the snow.. and maybe some footsteps in the snow?
