I worked on the 627 Squadron Pathfinder Mosquito and applied the black undersides to the aircraft. I used Model Master Enamel Black and then I will post shade with spots of RLM66 for variation. Took alot of Washi to mask this thing off. I also blended the seams on the massive 4000 lb Cookie bomb that comes with the kit and that is about ready to paint. I included an underside shot so you can see the bulged bomb bay so it could haul it. A real testament to the Mosquito and the Rolls Royce Merlins that it could cart around such a large piece of ordnance with relative ease. Best wishes, Ian

I hopped back on the Airfix 1/48th scale Mosquito Pathfinder project and did some weathering on it. I added exhaust stains to the nacelles which were sprayed on using Vallejo Light Mud. I then added some light exhaust stains on the tops of the wings, streaking back from the nacelles, using Vallejo Chocolate Brown. Post shading was added to the black undersides using Model Master black lightened with a few drops of Light Ghost Grey. I did some metal chipping (using Vallejo Natural Metal) on the metal parts of the Mossie, such as the intake boxes and nacelle areas. I then added some wood chipping to the wooden parts of the aircraft where the camo had peeled away from the laminate. Next will be some washes on the gear struts and weathering on the tires. Stay tuned...... Best wishes, Ian

I got the Mossie Pathfinder decaled this weekend. The squadron markings came from the Kits At War Mosquito Decal sheet and are for a Mk. XIV Pathfinder from 627 Squadron. based at Woodhall Spa where they supported Lancaster operations. No roundels or fin flashes are provided on that sheet so those came from an old Aeromaster Mossie sheet. I am working on getting the drop tanks installed now but the fit is a little off so I am still tweaking them. Anyway, stay tuned. Best wishes, Ian
