Thank you, guys! Paul, that was a little Vallejo NMF applied with a sponge. I found a guy on the web who built a Mosquito and depicted it with no camo, just wood laminate and the metal parts. That was a big help in determining where the wood and metal chipping would show through.
Best wishes,
Ian

I got the drop tanks installed on the Mossie after recontouring the joint line a little bit to get them to adhere to the bottom of the wings. I also added the props and then hit it with some flat coat consisting of Dull-Cote thinned with Metalizer Thinner. I will add the glass and the smaller details and get it wrapped up. Best wishes, Ian

Well, I am almost done with the Mosquito. I added the cockpit glass and nose glazing as well as the nav lights. I just have to add some antennae and tire weathering. I also worked on the Cookie Bomb, weighing in at a whopping 4000 pounds. I painted it the standard RAF ordnance Bronze Green and painted on the stripes which indicate the type of explosive contents in this monster. ( The chemical names are too long for me to pronounce, much less type). I also added some graffiti which was applied with a colored pencil. Anyway, should have this one wrapped up this weekend. Best wishes, Ian

Thanks gentlemen, and yes that Cookie bomb is a monster. Mence, hats off to your uncle and certainly grateful for his service. Those Mosquito crews pulled off some incredible missions over the Reich, especially the Pathfinders. Fantastic aviators, indeed. Also Mence, do you know what unit he was in? Just curious...........
Regards,
Ian

Regards, Ian Hi Ian, I wish I did. He passed a number of years ago, very humble, never really discussed it. Only thing i have is an altimeter he grabbed from his plane after he ditched in the channel.
